#5 - First line and the last lines

New common character: Ethel homeless woman, middle-aged and pushes a shopping cart.

Weather: It's really hot and no air-conditioning in the building.

A paneled van's backdoors open and 6 cans of paint fall out and spill out randomly down Collingwood, Myrtle, Exeter, Ember roads as the truck rolls through the town and basically covers lots of the street.

Bill the Balloon starts selling balloons again but he looks kinda like mummy because of his bandages. Since it's near Halloween, his balloons have that theme going.

#4 - What had happen was...

This post is focused on a particular situation that your character finds him/herself caught-up in.

• You can have a limited interaction with the other character if that interaction would not fit very well in your story
• Think about how this situation is going to tell us something new(character development) about your that we didn't know before.
• Engage with your surroundings.  Include things from the neighborhood that will help place your character and build the overall storyline.
• Feel free to add new group characters
• Careful with sentence structure. Keep it varied.
• Since the dead girl is part of the narrative, how much of that story is important to your character?
• Can knowing what happens to other characters this week help in your character development?

Margo - You are included in a text messaging blow-up on your phone from people you and many that you don't.
Brilynn - goes up to the 14th floor and are enclosed in complete darkness and end-up finding a clue about the dead girl, Alice.
Piper - you are in a bowling tournament at the bowling alley and your team members are terrible bowlers and so are you, but have to play at least 4 games in which you lose all of them.

#3 - Duckocalypse Blog

You should include one of each of the following categories: Due date: SEPT 29th.

Locations:
1) Hot Legs' staff manager is Nancy.  Food specialty is HOT WINGS!
2) Little Tokyo owner is Cho - Bubble Tea is the specialty
3) Pizza Palace - Jeremy is a high school student who buses tables and takes orders - Hawaiian style pizza is their specialty.

Weather conditions:
There is a constant rain falling with periods of downpours. There is a flash flood warning

Paint  colors of the tagger:
Neon green, light purple and red and they all glow in the dark.  Your character needs to see one and it should mean something to him/her.

The saga of the dead child, Alice:
All her siblings have died. And they died when they were 6.  The town now calls her death "The curse of the six."

The quirky event:

• Ducks have left the lake for unknown reasons and are now walking around the city in small groups, or pairs.  They are unusually large ducks, and they are oddly colored.  A few are white, some are jet black, others have odd assortments of colors in their feathers. There is duck poop around the town. 
• Everyone should either go into or pass by:
•  the graveyard
• Jehovah Witness Church -- now known as "The True Believers"
• St. Mark

Common event:
People seem to be stubbing their toes quite a bit.

Post #2 - Going to the dogs...

Setting:
Betty's Beauty: is a supply company run by Betty, a middle-aged blonde, who tries hard but has settled for just average.  Her employees, Diana Donati is one of the blog characters and the other one, Lucinda is a group character- she is somewhat like Betty, she tries hard and passionate about her job but is inept.

Dog Festival: Dogs! Dogs! And more dogs! Contests, give-a-ways, adoptions, etc.! In McAllister Park!all day! Food trucks! Booths! Woof, woof!

Lunar eclipse: at 1:03 PM

Local bands: playing in the park from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, they are loud and really not very good, but they are there because the police department is trying to raise money for the family who just lost their young daughter, Alice, in an apparent drowning. They need money for the funeral.

Speaking of the child drowning... Detective Carter(late 60's, tired, and a bit jaded) is interviewing people who may be possible suspects in Alice's drowning. He interviews:

Balloon man: His name is Bill, Bill the balloon man.  He is selling big and small balloons during the dog festival. The balloons are all shaped in various breeds of dogs.  Some are the whole dog, others are just the head. He has at least 50 of them. He lives in the neighborhood and sells balloons for all occasions and has a little stand next to the bus stop. 

Character interactions:

• Remember, you should have some type of interaction with the character you were pared with. You do not need to have a dialogue if it doesn't fit your character.  You should have a conversation with the author in your respective comment boxes on your first blog.  If you do not get a response from that author in a couple of days, write your blog and include the character as you see fit.
• You may, if you wish, include other blog characters that you are not paired with this week.  If you do incorporate other characters, let them know by posting in their comment box. Usually you should comment in the current post. 
• If you do not wish to continue the interaction--what would be the best way to further develop your character, and leave an opening for the other character. You could even comment that now is not the right time for your character, but remember, stay open to possibilities. 
• Also, of note, writers--therefore characters--change.  A writer may not like the direction a character is going and may rewrite their character's first blog(it's already happened). Don't get too upset, either keep yours or rewrite.  REVISION IS YOUR BESTIE!
